Singapore Smart Nation meets with Trusted Objects
During the recent IoT Asia show in Singapore, Trusted Objects had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation Programme Office.
Trusted Objects was presenting its hardware-based IoT security solutions on Avnet booth during IoT Asia. Sami Anbouba, Trusted Objects CEO and co-founder, introduced Trusted Objects security solutions to Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. He especially focused on the need to plan end-to-end security when developing IoT initiatives. Trusted Objects solutions combine hardware-based security based on tamper resistant chips with a secure firmware and personalization under the control of the issuer.
Singapore Smart Nation initiative intends to leverage the technology and the development of solutions in areas including home-based services, transport, healthcare and community services, while paying a special attention to safeguarding personal privacy and national security. When presenting the Smart Nation project, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, declared: “The key is not technology, but to create opportunities for people to interact, build communities and have a higher quality of life.”
Singapore's Smart Nation initiative was officially launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 24 November 2014. The initiative is coordinated by the Smart Nation Programme Office, led by cabinet minister, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs.
